Here are Chessie (left) and Noelle
(right). Chessie and Noelle are both rescue corgis and
live in their new home together. Noelle has had some surgeries
in the past year to both of her knees
at the University of Tennessee! She has completed her
rehabilatation, learning how to use her repaired knees, and is
frisking and playing again. CorgiAid (see the link to the
left) paid for her surgeries so that she could be healthy and
playful again. Both Chessie and Noelle have been regular
attendees at the Tennessee Corgi picnics through the years.
(See link to the left). If you have never been to a Corgi
Picnic, you are missing out on a very special event!

Brewster,
2005
Brewster was not crazy
about other dogs, however, he DOES love kids. He's 10 years
old and is a good boy who asks little except for
some attention, love and a couple of square meals a day. Much
to everyone's surprise, the old fella turned out to be a world class
swimmer and now he has his own pool and raft! Older
corgis still have plenty of life and love left in
them!
Jack, 2005
Meet Jack! aka "Jumping Jack
Flash", and the name fits him to a T. Jack is an
adorable sable pem with a tail. He was found roaming the streets by
animal control with no training, but tons of energy. I guess when
the "cute puppy" phase was over, it was easier to turn him loose,
rather than train him.
Kirby, formerly known as Courage
Kirby continues to thrive in his new
home. He got everything he asked for in a new family, a calm
environment, a sassy corgi sister named Katie, and many walks in the
day. Kirby has learned that people are kind and to allow them
to touch him. Touching means nice things, now, such as
petting, brushing and putting his leash on for a walk.
Kirby is still learning to trust, but he is making
great leaps forward! All of our best to this courageous little
corgi!
Cassidy by
DeWaun
Today Cassidy, our three legged, Corgi
mix little boy left the Vet hospital to join his new family.
Three weeks ago, we were all scrambling trying to
get his little boy sprung from the SPCA. Cassidy seemed to have the
deck stacked against him. He had one deformed leg and we were all
uncertain as to his fate if he was not adopted or rescued. A
rescue plan was devised, Di and Jeanne had offered to take him
into his program if we could just get him out. The SPCA would
only release to a 501 (c) 3 group and none of us had the
designation. Thankfully Pam with Cardi rescue stepped up and
got approval for me to get him under their group. The
paperwork was turned in, but still the SPCA hesitated. "We'll
call you if he doesn't get adopted" they told me. A long week
passed during which I had a friend check on Cassidy, only to find
out that he now had Kennel Cough. Finally...the SPCA made the
call, they would release him.

On Saturday Dec 2nd Cassidy
come into rescue. Since he was contageous, I called my vet to
see if they could take him...no room at the inn. So a call
went out to friends to see if they knew of a Vet who might be rescue
friendly who had room. Yorktown Animal Clinic stepped up with
a vacancy so Cassidy took up temporary residence with them. As fate
would have it, one of the Vet Techs met and fell in love with little
Cassidy and when she found out he was available for adoption she set
out to do just that. In the meantime, Jeanne and
I were trying to arrange transport to the north. It
appeared that the previously planned transport had fallen through,
but at the last minute Jeanne got approval to carry him. All
to no avail since he was still contageous on the day of the
scheduled transport. We were all in dispair that we would get
this boy into a foster home. On Friday, Jen, the Vet
Tech, made the call asking to adopt Cassidy! An applicaiton
was filled out, a home check was done in record time and all
references from her co workers were all thumbs up.
Yesterday Cassidy was well enough to be neutered and
microchipped. Today as I walked in to the Vet
Clinic to pick Cassidy up, Jen and Tim were there anxiously waiting
to take Cassidy home. In fact they already had him in the waiting
room where he was soaking up the attention from everyone. All the
staff commented on what a great dog he was, and asked that he come
for visits often. The bill was paid, the papers signed,
and Cassidy left to start his new life. Sometimes Christmas
wishes come true. Thank you Corgi Aid for approving
reimbursement for his medical expenses. Thank you Jeanne, Di,
Pam and Millie. We all did
good.
