The dogs listed on
these pages may or may not be available at this time. This is
a clearinghouse, and we are not always notified when a specific dog
is placed. If you are interested in a particular dog, please contact
the person or club whose name is listed with that dog.
You may also wish to contact several of these sources in
your area. You will need to fill out an application for
each one. Sometimes no dogs are available, sometimes there are
several at each site. The dogs can change from day to day, so
it is best to contact the rescuers listed in your area, so they will
have your application on file. This way they can try to find the dog
that will match your needs and the corgi's
needs.
We are currently working on a Universal
Application that you may submit back to this site and it will be
forwarded to workers in your area. Please check back from time
to time to see how this project is going.
Please note that on the email addresses, you must cut
and paste them on a message and change "at" to "@". This is
to prevent spammers from using these addresses.
Even though you don't see a
corgi here, please visit the Helpful
Links page, and contact some of the rescuers there. You
will have to fill out an application for a dog and it's helpful to
get this process going sooner rather than
later!

Dogs available in
Michigan:
I have four dogs available in
Michigan at this time, there are more, please see the link above
under Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin!
Here is
Chester:

Chester is 9 months old, will be
neutered on Wednesday and have his rabies shot then. He
is up to date on his other vaccinations. I did not
check for heartworm since it's unlikely that he's had much
exposure to it. He is greased lightning, if someone took this
smart and brave boy into agility, they would have a winner for
sure. He has a charming personality, busy as can be, no
manners or training at this time. We are working on
housebreaking him, AKA so he doesn't use his crate. He was
left in a crate all the time at his previous home, so he sees
nothing wrong with going when he needs to go. He is doing
better the past couple of days. I let him out frequently
He's smart, he is going to catch on fast to the idea. He shows
no aggression towards anything, likes the other dogs, I can put down
and pick up his bowl with no problems. He has energy. I
believe he is nuclear powered. I have not heard him bark
yet. This one is a keeper, he is exactly what I like in a
performance dog, and he's smart.

Next is Mickey:

Mickey is 10 years old, UTD
on shots, neutered, very sweet, very mellow. He is clear of
heartworms and his bloodwork is fine. His teeth have been
cleaned. He barks and acts tough around other dogs on the
other side of the fence, but not particularly aggressive, more
excited. He has a hoarse bark. We did his bloodwork and
his kidneys and liver are working great. He has plenty of
energy for an older dog, interested in everything. He dilly
dallies around when he's called but he's getting the idea of "if you
come, you get a cookie". I haven't done any formal training
yet and won't until we get out of the Ice Age here, maybe another
3-4 weeks. He was peeing as soon as he left his crate (still
inside) but I let him out frequently and this has passed. He
was apparently only let out a couple of times a day, within an hour
of each other as his caregiver came to the home that he lived in
(also apparently alone) once a day. I also cannot go 23 hours
between potty breaks. :) He doesn't pee any more often than
any other dog around here. He has not forgotten his
housebreaking but he needs to go out regularly, which he was not
given the opportunity to do. Very healthy and very pleasant. A
rare jewel of sweetness, and he is going to make someone very
happy.

Here is Sadie:
And Buddy........

Buddy and Sadie (red/white male, bh tri
female). Both 8 years old, given up due to their elderly owner
being put in a full time care facility. She did not want to
give up her dogs. They are delightful. Both are happy and
friendly, Sadie is a bit of a mouth and will bark at the other dogs
behind the fence. She has a sharp bark. I have not heard
Buddy bark yet. She's a little fatter, he's a little thinner,
so I separate them at food time. Both take treats gently and
we are just finishing up some antibiotics for Sadie, she had an
apparent bladder infection and was peeing in her bed but is not
doing so now. Both had good bloodwork and were negative for
heartworms, both are UTD on vaccinations. Sadie has had her
teeth cleaned. These are NOT old dogs, they are playful and
engaging and happy. They are somewhat attached to each other
but could be separated, I believe. However, after 8 years, it
seems a shame. Buddy seems more attached to Sadie than the
other way around. I'm very fond of these two.
